There are various tourist visa types, depending on the purpose and duration of a visit. An Australian visitor visa is required to visit Australia for a holiday, to meet family and friends or to conduct a short business trip. A Tourist visa is required for people who wish to come in Australia to travel or visit friends and family. Tourists from non-ETA eligible countries, those wishing to stay in Australia for more than 3 months or tourists already in Australia wishing to extend their stay are required to make a tourist visa application.

Some Key Requirements are:

Genuine Purpose of Visit:

The tourist visa is intended for tourism, visiting friends or relatives, or engaging in certain business activities (such as attending conferences or making business inquiries). It cannot be used for employment or long-term study. Duration of Stay: The Tourist visa allows for stays of up to 3 months (90 days) per visit. It is valid for multiple entries within 12 months.

Health and Character Requirements:

You must meet health and character requirements set by the Australian government. This generally involves having no criminal convictions and being in good health.

Funds and Support:

You should have enough funds to cover your stay in Australia, including accommodation, transportation, and other expenses. If you are staying with friends or relatives, you may be asked to provide a letter of invitation and their contact details.

Return/onward ticket:

You may be required to provide evidence of a return or onward ticket to your home country or another destination outside Australia.

No Previous Visa Cancellations:

If you have previously had a visa cancellation or been refused entry to Australia, you may not be eligible for an ETA. In such cases, you may need to apply for a different type of visa.

ETA TOURIST VISA

An Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) is an electronic travel visa linked to the applicant’s passport permitting travel to Australia for tourism and business purposes. As an ETA is an electronic travel visa, there is no stamp or label in the passport and passport holders from ETA-eligible countries can obtain an ETA online. An ETA is a travel visa that is valid for one year and successful applicants are permitted to travel to Australia and stay for up to 3 months per visit.

E-TOURIST VISA

An E-tourist Visa is required for people who wish to come to Australia in travel or visit friends and family. The E-Visitor Visa is also suitable for people visiting for business purposes such as: attending a conference, negotiating, or exploring business opportunities. To qualify for this visa type, travellers must hold an E-Visitor Visa-eligible passport and can make an application online. Applicants must be outside Australia at the time of lodgement and time of decision. An e-Visitor Visa is valid for a period of 12 months and permits a stay of 3 to 12 months from the date of each entry (during the validity period).

Conditions to be Eligible:

To be eligible for a tourist visa, the applicant must have a genuine intention to visit Australia as a tourist, for recreation, or to visit family and friends. Applicants are required to satisfy health and character requirements and may be required to demonstrate that they have sufficient funds to support their travels in Australia.
