Canada Visitor Visa

Temporary Resident Visa

Visitor visa is also referred to as Temporary Resident Visa (TRV), which is an official document issued by a Canadian visa office that is placed in your passport to represent that you have satisfied all the requirements for admission to Canada as a temporary resident. You can contact us @ Visa Valley for Visitor Visa Services as one need to obtain it before reaching Canada.

It is the perfect visa for those who are looking to visit Canada for a holiday, or to visit family, or to conduct business. There are some boundations in which a person on this visa is restricted to do some of the things subject to various conditions. To enter or re-enter in Canada, a permanent resident or Canadian citizens do not require a TRV or Visitor visa.

Some of the basic requirements/eligibilities are:

Passport:

You must have a valid passport to apply for a Canadian tourist visa. Ensure that your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your intended stay in Canada.

Purpose of Visit:

You should demonstrate that you intend to visit Canada for a temporary purpose, such as tourism, visiting family or friends, or attending a business meeting or conference. You must convince the immigration authorities that you will leave Canada at the end of your authorized stay.

Financial Resources:

You must prove that you have enough funds to cover your expenses during your stay in Canada. This includes accommodation, transportation, meals, and any other related costs. Providing bank statements, proof of employment, or other financial documents may be required.

Ties to Your Home Country:

It’s important to demonstrate strong ties to your home country, such as employment, family, assets, or social commitments, to establish that you have reasons to return after your visit to Canada. This helps address concerns about potential immigration violations or overstaying.

Invitation Letters or Itinerary:

While not mandatory, providing an invitation letter from a host in Canada or a detailed itinerary of your
planned activities can support your application. It shows the purpose and duration of your visit and can help establish credibility.

Travel History:

If you have travelled to other countries in the past, particularly countries with similar visa requirements and immigration systems as Canada, it can enhance your application. A positive travel history, with no immigration violations, can demonstrate your ability to comply with visa rules.

Health and Security:

You may be required to undergo a medical examination, depending on your country of residence and the duration of your stay. Additionally, you must not pose any security risks to Canada, such as having a criminal record or being involved in activities that could be deemed harmful to Canadian society.

NOTE:

It’s important to note that meeting these eligibility criteria does not guarantee approval of your visa application. The decision ultimately rests with the Canadian immigration authorities, who will assess your application based on the information provided and their own criteria.

Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA)

One might have to get an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA), if he/ she is from one of the countries which do not require a TRV to visit Canada. One should check if he/ she needs an eTA before arriving in Canada and apply for one.

Visa-exempt foreign nationals, who come to Canada or transit through a Canadian airport, need an eTA, according to new entry requirements. Canadian citizens, permanent residents, U.S. Citizens and peoples who have a valid visa of Canada do not require an eTA. Visa exempt travellers do not need an eTA if they are entering Canada via land or sea.

The application for an eTA is done online. You will need a valid passport, a credit card for the application fee, and an email address. The application form collects personal information, travel details, and background information. Once completed, the application is submitted electronically.

With a valid eTA one can travel to Canada as often as he/she want for short stays which is normally six months at a stretch as an eTA can be valid for about five years or earlier if your passport expires.

In most cases, eTA applications are processed quickly. Many applicants receive approval within minutes, although it may take longer in some cases. It is advisable to apply for an eTA well in advance of your travel plans to ensure a smooth process.

Contact Visa Valley regarding any type of query, help or assistance regarding eTA.
